As a multinational pharmaceutical enterprise, Daiichi-Sankyo (China) operates under a stringent regulatory environment and complex business model. It urgently needs to build an integrated, efficient and refined total budget control system to address multiple challenges.
From a multinational management perspective, Daiichi-Sankyo (China) must meet management requirements from both China and Japan, ensuring that reports complying with different accounting standards can be efficiently generated from a single source of truth. The company’s internal accounting work is highly complicated. It previously relied on manual work to prepare multi-dimensional profit & loss statements by legal entity, product line and business division, and handle settlement and allocation of a large volume of internal related services — a heavy workload prone to errors.
To systematically resolve the above bottlenecks, Daiichi-Sankyo (China) partnered with FONE to implement a total budget system named "iMARS", which delivered three major innovative breakthroughs:
The system completely phased out the inefficient legacy model of preparing profit & loss statements in Excel and sharing data via emails. By unifying data submission standards, enabling workflow approvals and automatic aggregation, quarterly LE reports that used to be prepared manually offline are now fully automated within the system. This drastically cuts the cycle for compiling complete budget versions and allows the enterprise to adjust short-, medium- and long-term operational targets and development plans in response to market changes.
In terms of control scope and granularity, Daiichi-Sankyo (China) achieved a comprehensive upgrade in budget management. The previous simple expense budget was expanded into a full system covering revenue budget, asset budget, human resource budget, expense budget, project budget and financial budget. Meanwhile, the system automatically allocates internal related-party expenses between the headquarters and two factories based on pre-defined logic and rates such as FTE (Full-Time Equivalent).
Furthermore, backed by FONE’s robust rule engine and powerful computing capacity of the PB-level distributed data warehouse, the system easily supports multi-dimensional, refined management requirements. It enables automatic comparison of multiple budget versions, helping the enterprise track budget progress and operational status in real time and substantially strengthening the depth and intensity of budget control.

Embracing fintech trends, the bank keeps meeting the increasingly diverse financial service needs of corporate and individual clients with smarter and more professional services. Bank of Shanghai has been accelerating digital transformation, yet consolidated financial reporting remained a major challenge. The bank needed to clarify consolidation methodologies, define preparation responsibilities, and leverage a high-performance consolidation reporting system to boost preparation efficiency, standardize workflows and generate financial reports in a timely manner.
By deploying the FONE Consolidation system to build a financial statement preparation framework, Bank of Shanghai acquired online reporting capabilities and improved the timeliness of periodic reports, laying a solid foundation for its digital transformation. Centered on adjustments in the reporting preparation phase, this project restored and refined statement line items, rolled out the bank’s full disclosure statement model, and established a financial report data management system consisting of metrics, dimension members and their associated attributes. This helped Bank of Shanghai build standardized capabilities for financial statement preparation and solidify the groundwork for online financial reporting.
By establishing an enterprise-wide unified and standardized financial report management system covering both processes and data, the project covers end-to-end workflows including financial data collection, processing, validation and report generation, laying the IT infrastructure for Bank of Shanghai. The project consolidated the foundation for financial statements by sorting out report design, indicator framework, process optimization and system functions. With capabilities of FONE Consolidation such as ETL data collection, one-click consolidation of full-tier statements and multi-dimensional analysis, the bank realized centralized, standardized online management of the complete set of financial statements. This covers data sources and decimal precision for financial data collection, as well as rules for data processing and validation, to gradually advance automation and reshape the bank’s financial reporting productivity.
